President’s Message
Happy New Year Everyone,
I hope the coming year is a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful one for all of us.A new Board will be in place with much work to be completed
and new projects to begin. I urge you to think about helping out as little or as much as you can. Polo Park has always had a great tradition
of having volunteers helping out, let’s continue that in the new year.We look forward to seeing you at the Cookie Social to meet our new
neighbors and to review and speak with the chairpersons of various committees and activities. Many special events are planned as well, such
as the PPIPs January Dinner Dance with a Roaring Twenties theme, The Winter Games, and the Valentine Dance to name a few. Join us,
meet your neighbors and have some fun! The past year and a half has proved to be a difficult one, but we all made it through. Now it’s time
to move forward and make our Park even better than before. Ideas, thoughts and ways to improve are always welcome, so attend a committee
meeting or get in touch with a Board member- that is all it takes.
Together we can make it better!!

Numbers for Your Driveway
During the month of March, members of the Polo Park
Improvement Projects (PPIPS) will continue to paint numbers on
the end of driveways. The large numbers are helpful to friends
and, especially, emergency vehicles when they are trying to
identify your house. You may have noticed that these painted
numbers stood up to Hurricane Irma!
The cost of the numbering is $10 per driveway. If you are
interested in having this done, please contact Sue Cochran.

Residents’ Photos
For New Neighbors (and Old)
The Photo Albums in Challenger Clubhouse contain photos of
residents arranged alphabetically and by street. These albums
need constant updating. We have many new residents who have
not had pictures taken and some residents who have never had
their picture added to the albums. I would like to undertake
a project to correct that! I am willing to visit each home, by
appointment, to take pictures of every new resident and anyone
who does not have a photo in the albums.
Just give me a call and we can set up a photo session.
Thanks, Linda.
Thank You, Polo Park

Cheeseburger Tuesday
I’d like to thank all of the people who showed up for Cheeseburger
Tuesday, to say the least, the response was overwhelming! As
with all new operations there were a few kinks and hopefully
the next Cheeseburger Tuesday, January 4, will have the burger
heating problem solved. Additionally, we will have 126 burgers
available so nobody will go without. If anybody has suggestions
we would love to hear them as turning out a quality meal for the
price is our goal. I would also like to thank our volunteer cookie
makers and servers without your help this could not happen, great
job.

Door.
Don’t know what they’re doin’ but they laugh a lot
Behind the green door!
How about this one?
I know a dark secluded place
A place where no one knows your face.
A glass of wine, a fast embrace.
It’s called Hernando’s Hideaway. Ole!
Just knock three times and whisper low
That you and I were sent by Joe
Then strike a match and you will know
You’re in Hernando’s Hideaway. Ole!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Dave, were always very active, both on the golf course and
within the park, and since his death in 2014 she seems driven
to do as much work alone as the two of them did together.
For many years, she was in charge of the Polo Park Resident
Directory. Currently, she handles the picture directory of the
Polo Park residents and also records and reports information
pertaining to deaths in the community. She is also the official
photographer for Polo Park Press and operates the photo
booth at the PPIPs Annual Dinner Dance. She tries very hard
to attend every special event happening in our community
and later shares her photos on Polo Park’s Facebook site.
Linda regularly participates in the exercise classes, and runs
a community yard sale twice a year to support Palm Krest
Manor, an assisted living facility in Haines City. She is in
charge of the annual craft show luncheon, actively participates
in Polo-Ettes, is a member of CAP, and regularly attends the
Polo Park Chapel, presenting the prayer list at each service.
If there are cookies to be baked or cupcakes to be frosted,
Linda is there . . . and probably decked out in the best themed-
costume for the activity. Polo Park owes a lot to Linda Bailey
for all of the work that she does and the sunshine that she
spreads.
Volunteers are the backbone of our community.
